Virtual server software

All ISPserver Virtual Dedicated Servers come with the most popular software - pre-installed and set up... ready for you to start working right away!

This software is 100% free, no charge, no spyware. Our engineers will keep pre-installed software up-to-date. You will want to be sure that you are keeping any third party software that you may have installed up to date to prevent any security problems in the future.

Our Virtual Dedicated Servers are powered by VDSmanager, which allows us to split a server into smaller individual servers, each with its own resources and full root access. Our VDS packages provide our customers with the ability to tailor the amount and type of software that is preinstalled on their systems to meet their specific needs at time of purchase.

Your Virtual Dedicated Server acts just like a real dedicated server. It starts off with a default install of software and services including a mail transport agent, a web server, and an SSH server. You can log in to your server as root (through our admin console or by SSH) and configure whatever services and users you need. You take full control of (and responsibility for) setting up the machine, though we can offer some advice; if you need a server preconfigured with specific installed packages, please let us know.

Software

Our VDS plans are simple and easy to manage via our Control Panel. Also, our technical support team is available 24/7 to assist you, if required.

1. FreeBSD 6.x - stable software (full list of packages)

   The package includes the latest version of FreeBSD OS and the most stable additional software (Apache 1.3.x, MySQL 4.1, PHP 4.x, Perl 5.8.7).

   In the VDSmanager panel you can find it as "ISPmanager".

2. FreeBSD 6.x - contemporary software (full list of packages)

   The package includes the latest version of FreeBSD OS and up-to-the-minute software versions (Apache 2.x, MySQL 5.x, PHP 5.x, Perl 5.8.7). As you know, later version always tends to consume more system resources than earlier ones. So we would suggest this package to all our customers who want to use state-of-the-art technologies in programming and web-building.

   In the VDSmanager panel you can find it as "Soft2006".

3. FreeBSD 6.x - basic installation

   The FreeBSD basic version. The package does not include any additional application software. The VDS platform allows advanced users to create and edit your own configuration. This package would be excellent for experienced system administrators.

   In the VDSmanager panel you can find it as "FreeBSD".
