SSL certificates
Web site information security is a very important aspect in realization of any web project. The highest level of secure information interchange between users and web resources is achieved by means of SSL-certificate.
With the help of certificate all the data transfered is encrypted in a special way. In case of using non-signed certificate, a browser gives an alert message about insecurity of this resource. It may causes usage problems for site visitors.
Usage of the signed certificates enables the visitor to use secure operation mode with web sites, avoiding any problems. Such security of data transfer voids the vast majority of attempts to steal information or just make such actions impossible.

Domain validation
The Certification Authority checks the right of the applicant to use a specific domain name. Such certificates are available both for individuals and legal entities. They require you to validate the ownership of the domain name by providing a "Confirmation email". This email address must exist because all the letters from the Certification Authorities will be sent there.
Please note that you are not allowed to order an SSL certificate for the domain names that contain any information referring to banks, finances or suspecting of phishing. Credit organizations and such are only allowed to order Organization validation certificates.
Domain and Organization validation
The Certification Authority checks both a domain and the right of the applicant to use this domain name. The legal name of the web sites' owner will be displayed on the browser address bar. Before ordering a certificate, please make sure that your organization, rather than an individual or system administrator has the right to use this domain name. Some types of certificates require that you provide your company information for the Certification Authority to conduct vetting of the organization.
IDN (Internationalized Domain Names)
Support of internationalized domain names that contain labels in a language-specific aphabet. If your domain name contains non-Latin alphabet letters, you need an IDN SSL certificate.
EV (Extended Validation)
The extended validation SSL certificates. It required validation of your business and authorization, including legal, physical and operational existence of the entity, business documents and much more. The extensive validation provides many benefits and a grater assuarance to customers by making the address bar turn green. This informs visitors of your web site that it was checked and the connection between the server and browser is secured.
The "Green address bar" in different browsers:

WildCard
Wildcard certificates are designed to secure an unlimited number of subdomains of your domain name. A single certificate is issued for www.domain.com, news.domain.com, manage.domain.com, etc. When generating a Wildcard certificate signing request you need to provide "*.domain.com" as the Common Name (CN), where domain.com is your domain name.
SGC (Server Gated Cryptography)
SGC SSL certificates allow browsers of different types and versions to gain a higher encryption rate. If a customer uses an old browser which normal encryption rate is 40 or 56-bit, the SGC certificate will enable to connect to a web site using 128-bit encryption.
